Trip to KL Part 1
A while ago, from 2-6 Sept I have the chance to visit Indonesia’s so called student, Malaysia, in KL actually. The trip was made in courtesy of my dad, He got an invitation from Aga Khan Award for Architecture, a three year award held in Moslem country, including Indonesia back in the 90’s. I even skip Adira’s invitation for a test in 6 September just to yield this trip. Okay enough of the preambule, let’s get to the main thing.
The journey starts normaly at CGK (Soekarno-Hatta Airport) and we fly to KLIA by MAS (Malaysia Airlines). The airlines is good, the food is cool, a beef noodle with mushroom sauce, a glass of orange juice, and of course a glass of white wine. Too bad the air stewardess is not my type, haha. Okay, then we arrived at the modern airport of KLIA, in the remote airfield. In order to get the baggage, I must travel like 5 minutes to the main airfield by somekind of train connecting the 2 airfield. Rumor has it that KLIA is intending to build another airfield cause the airport is too crowded.

This is the inside of the shuttle train connecting the airfield.
The airport is ultra modern in design and technology compared to CGK which is so ethnical and makes it look like a prehistoric airport. After some sight seeing in the airport, we go by taxi to the hotel paid by the Aga Khan’s. Here’s some pic of the airport taxi stop.

And then after an hour, we arrived at the Traders Hotel, a hotel managed by Shangri-la i guess, cause it has this “by Shangri-la” text in their logo. The hotel is like a general 5 stars hotel, have good bed, sofas, Samsung LCD TV, and what i like most about 5 stars hotel is the bathroom, hoho, i love bathtubing. Shit, i don’t have the picture of the hotel room, but from my room, i can take this picture, so you can guess this hotel’s location, rite?

As i arrived at around 4 pm, it’s my time for a little afternoon nap, haha. And then of to Bukit Bintang (Starhill) Area to get some food, after a good little nap nothing better than a good food to eat. From my arrival here at KL, this is my destination place to search for cool things, and this night I’m just looking around and hoping to spot the best place to shop in the next day. Below are some of the nite shots of BB area.

Clockwise: Night shots of Monorail Station in BB, the place where i eat in the backyard of BB street, I eat some good shit! sotong bakar!, street performance wish they had this in Jakarta, gettin tired of those god damn malls.
The street here is so alife man, mm alife or alive sih? ALIFE is a brand from NYC, btw. Wish that Jakarta has the same scene. The only place that look alike is Menteng, near the BBs Cafe, but that’s lame, not like here. That night I’m just eating, but the next day i step foot here, I gotta shop like pig.
The next day is the day of shopping, but with my dad around my tail, I can’t get my equilibrium of searchin things. So off we go to BB Area, and the first place i wanna go is the Sungei Wang Plaza. The place is kinda look like ITC or 2Mango, but the item inside is good and many variations goin around here, from fake tees, fake shoes, comics, resins, action figure, gundams!!, animes, authentic shoes, tees, accesories, and many other things you can think of. The first place i search is Miz29, they got some SBs there, and the result is dissapointing, not a shoe that connects to my heart, so i dun buy any. And there is Boundlezz, a high end streetwear store, selling authentic Nikes, and many high-end streetwear apparel like Stussy, Silly Thing, Subcrew, NBHD, and Fenom. The price is unbelieveable here, just like in 707 in Jakarta, so ill pass on this one too. Then after that we go to Midvalley to check some Nike outlets, my target in KL is i go back to Jakarta not emptyfeeted, means i must buy some decent shoes here. And luckily Midvalley’s Nike Culture store kept their Air Max just for me, and then just like the old Indonesian man said, “Langsung Sikattt”. After that, my feet gets achy even if i’m wearin the super comfortable and super stylish Atmos Air Max 1 elephant print, haha, off we go to the hotel again, cause we must attend the gala dinner at night. Here’s the new shoe pic.

At night, I’m wearin my batik to attend a gala dinner at somekind of Wisma Negeri, i think it’s a place where “tamu negara” stayed when they visit KL. The gala dinner is lame yet very exclusive and elite, chit chatin with foreign people with my sulky English, and eatin lame Malaysian fine cuisine. The cuisine is just like Indonesians, but the taste is just a little bit dull. The main food is a rice, a sayur lodeh, a red bean, and a fish. And the desert is just like kue-kue basah sold at morning market. Here’s some pic.

Okay, enough for the first part, the second part will have loads of picture comin, so i better prepare the picture.

Huah…pokoke enak d kalo ke KLIA, gak ke bandara kargo kaya LCCT. Bukit Bintang itu terasa lebih asik dari jkt karena suka ada karnaval n gak se-crowded Jakarta. Huhuhu..i miss jkt so much
wah ambience ama atmosphere streetnya beda banget juk ama jakarta.
